This is potentially the biggest mistake that dog owners can make. Off-Leash dog parks are not designed for socialisation purposes, but more for the benefit of social dogs being able to run free off-lead.
Taking fearful or dominant dogs into an Off-Leash area with the intentions of socialisation, more often than not is going to end in disaster. These particular dogs with such temperaments would far better benefit from a specifically designed training program, which would be conducted in a controlled environment under the supervision of a professional trainer.
Unfortunately, the reality is that not ALL dogs are going to get a long, and by putting a number of dominant dogs together, or fearful dogs in an environment full of over the top boisterous dogs, is more than likely going to end up with a negative outcome either way.
At the end of the day, if you have any doubt regarding the safety of your dog, there are a number of different options available to ensure that you and your dog can have an extremely enriched lifestyle with all of their genetic needs being satisfied.
